King Edward VI Aston School Celebrates Strong Ofsted Report Across All Areas

King Edward VI Aston School is celebrating an excellent outcome following its recent Ofsted inspection, with inspectors judging all seven assessed areas to be at a ‘Strong’ standard and safeguarding confirmed as effective.  

In its September 2026 inspection, King Edward VI Aston School achieved a ‘Strong’ judgement in all areas assessed: 

  • Achievement 
  • Attendance and Behaviour 
  • Curriculum and Teaching
  • Inclusion 
  • Leadership and Governance 
  • Personal Development and Wellbeing 
  • Post-16 Provision 

Safeguarding was also found to meet Ofsted's standards.  

Inspectors praised the school's ambitious curriculum, high academic standards and inclusive culture, noting that pupils and sixth -form students "produce high-quality work" and are "very well prepared for their next steps". They also highlighted the school's extensive enrichment opportunities, strong relationships between staff and pupils, and the high levels of attendance and behaviour across the school community.  

The report recognised the school's commitment to excellence, stating that leaders "relentlessly pursue excellence in all areas" and have created a highly inclusive environment where all pupils, including disadvantaged students and those with special educational needs and disabilities, are supported to achieve well.  

Matthew Brady, Headteacher at King Edward VI Aston School, said:

Achieving a Strong judgement in all seven categories is testament to the dedication of our staff, the hard work and character of our pupils, and the support of our families, governors and the wider King Edward VI Foundation community. 

"This report reflects our commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience that combines academic excellence with outstanding opportunities for personal growth, leadership and enrichment. We are proud of what our school community has achieved and remain committed to continually improving for the benefit of every young person in our care." 

The inspection found that pupils "thoroughly enjoy learning" at the school, thrive within its respectful and inclusive culture, and benefit from a broad range of opportunities that develop their talents and interests. Inspectors also highlighted the school's strong sixth -form provision, effective careers guidance and the positive destinations achieved by students after leaving the school.
