The King Edward VI Foundation Office was filled with creativity, camaraderie, and the delicious aroma of freshly baked treats on Tuesday May 19th as colleagues came together for the very first Foundation Office Bake Off.
Designed as a chance to showcase baking skills and enjoy some friendly competition, the event welcomed everyone, from seasoned star bakers to enthusiastic amateurs, and proved to be a joyful success.
Participants submitted entries across five categories - Whole Cakes, Tray Bakes, Individual Cakes, Biscuits, and Miscellaneous, which were showcased and shared in the Foundation Boardroom where an impressive display of bakes highlighted the creativity and effort of all involved.
A panel of judges including Jodh Dhesi, Jason Blackburn, Hoang Nyugen, Josh Priest, and Dee McGlaughlin assessed each entry on presentation, taste and flavour, texture and bake quality, creativity, and overall impression. With such a high standard across the board, choosing winners was no easy task.
Prizes were awarded in each category, alongside the overall winner and Star Baker, Anisha Ali, who received the highly coveted Foundation Office Bake Off Apron.
The event brought colleagues together in a wonderfully positive way as fun was had, cakes were thoroughly enjoyed, and the Bake Off created a memorable shared experience for the whole team.
