We are seeking to appoint a full-time (part-time considered for suitable candidate), teacher of Geography to teach in our school. The ability to teach History and/or RE would be beneficial. Our vision is that the curriculum is the key driver for well-rounded global citizens. As a Geographer, you are incredibly well-positioned to teach help us to deliver this ambition. Without a good grasp of geography, young people will never fully understand the world and how to make it a better place for all.

The Geography department offers a stimulating environment that fosters both academic growth and personal development, supported by a dynamic curriculum and exceptional resources. The department is one of the school’s most popular GCSE options and takes great pride in delivering a rich and engaging curriculum, complemented by a strong extracurricular offer which includes recent overseas visits to Italy and Iceland. Applications are welcome from teachers at any stage of their career, including Early Career Teachers.

About the Academy Trust

The King Edward VI Foundation, Birmingham, is a progressive charitable organisation which has supported excellence in education across the City since 1552. Our schools are diverse in nature but have a common purpose and commitment to achieving our mission of “making Birmingham the best place to be educated in the UK”.

Our Academy Trust currently consists of two independent schools, six selective, and five non selective academies. The King Edward VI Academy Trust Birmingham (“the Academy Trust”) was established in 2017 and is made up of the academies outlined above. The academies receive back office central support services including governance, from the Foundation Office (a central support services function), with several staff being seconded from the Foundation to deliver support services to the Academy Trust and the academies themselves.
Our highly focused five-year strategy aims to build on our existing strengths and heritage and deliver our ambitious growth strategy which aims to bring in a further five academies over the next five years.
