An Open Letter: Addressing Racism in the Schools of King Edward VI

Dear Student Leaders, We are proud of the diversity of our schools and our city. Like you, we are all deeply committed to the eradication of racism and we recognise that our community and the broader society in which we operate have a long way to go to achieve genuine equality. We are therefore grateful for your offer to work collectively with us to consider further improvements to our pastoral systems and our curriculum offer. We will discuss this, as a group of Heads, in the next week. Thank you again for your commitment and leadership.           Heath Monk (on behalf of the Schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham) Update: Please see attached for the outcomes of the Student Council meeting, attended by the Headteachers of the eleven schools of the King Edward VI Foundation and representatives of their Student Councils.
