The King Edward VI Foundation was pleased to host Patrons of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) for a dynamic event exploring the power of partnership between the education and business sectors.
Held at the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, the event provided an invaluable platform for discussion around how collaboration can benefit pupils, employers, and the wider community. Key themes included careers education, governor recruitment, and the potential for wider corporate partnerships across the Foundation's schools.
The event was expertly chaired by Raj Kandola, Director of External Affairs at GBCC, and featured contributions from several Foundation leaders, including:
- Jodh Dhesi, Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation
- Kirsty von Malaisé, Headmaster of the Foundation and Chief Master & Principal of King Edward’s School and King Edward VI High School for Girls
- Matthew Brady, Cluster Lead – North and Headteacher of King Edward VI Aston School
- Rebecca Elcocks, Cluster Lead – South and Principal of King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy
- Karen Stevens, Cluster Lead – Central and Headteacher of King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls
Together, they shared insights on how the Foundation is preparing students for life beyond school, and how business leaders can play a meaningful role in supporting that journey.
Guests also enjoyed hospitality provided by the KES Dining Hall, which laid on a superb lunch following the event.
The Foundation extends its thanks to GBCC for their continued partnership and to all speakers, attendees, and staff who made the event such a success. These connections form an essential part of our commitment to Care, Collaboration, and Ambition across all areas of our work.
