We’re proud to share that Charlotte Osborn, Pastoral Leader at King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls, has been appointed as a Trustee of the MaternityTeacher PaternityTeacher (MTPT) Project - the UK’s charity for parent-educators.
Charlotte first connected with MTPT during her own maternity leave, where she took part in coaching programmes that helped her navigate the balance between professional responsibilities and family life. These included Life-Friendly Leadership, which supports school leaders in managing their roles alongside parenting, and the Parental Leave Group Coaching programme, designed specifically for staff on maternity, adoption, or shared parental leave.
Inspired by her experience, Charlotte championed a partnership between the Foundation and MTPT. Thanks to this, all teaching and support staff across the Foundation now have free access to MTPT’s coaching programmes, including:
- Parental Leave Group Coaching – peer-based coaching for staff currently on leave, helping them stay connected and prepare for their return.
- Return to Work Workshops – practical sessions to support a confident and smooth transition back into the workplace.
- Sustain and Grow Group Coaching – ongoing coaching for working parents focused on career development and wellbeing.
These programmes are open to all parenting identities, including fathers and partners.
