King Edward VI Five Ways School achieves PTI Subject Mark

Huge congratulations to King Edward VI Five Ways School’s English and Mathematics departments, who have received The PTI Department Development Programme Subject Mark for exceptional teaching practices.

Launched in 2007, The PTI’s Department Development Programme recognises school departments that implement inspiring ideas and activities to enhance the teaching of various subjects;, including Art, Design & Technology, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Modern Foreign Languages, Music, Physical Education, and Science. This initiative celebrates excellence in education, regardless of students’ backgrounds or abilities, further embedding our accessibility values.

Open to all state secondary schools in England, the program invites departments to show their commitment to enhancing teachers’ subject knowledge and fostering students’ understanding and passion for their subjects.

To earn The PTI Subject Mark, departments must prove they have increased curriculum challenges, improved staff expertise, established external subject-based connections, and engaged students with activities beyond the standard curriculum.

Headmaster Dr. S.N. Bird expressed his excitement: “We are proud to receive The PTI Mark for the innovative efforts of our English and Mathematics departments.”
