Following the start of its introduction across the King Edward VI Academy Trust, MyNewTerm is transforming recruitment - helping schools fill vacancies faster, reduce administration and connect with more high-quality candidates than ever before.
Introduced to support and modernise recruitment across the Academy Trust, MyNewTerm provides a single platform where schools can advertise vacancies, manage applications and oversee the entire recruitment journey. Job adverts are uploaded directly by schools and automatically appear on school websites and the Foundation's central careers portal, increasing visibility and reach. And the impact has been significant.
This project was delivered and led by Hitesh Vara, who is responsible for Project Implementation (Project Management and Delivery). With King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls as our pilot school, we can now confirm that the Foundation Office and seven of our Academy Trust schools have gone live with MyNewTerm. This includes King Edward VI Aston School, King Edward VI Balaam Wood Academy, King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys and Camp Hill School for Girls, King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls, King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls' Academy and King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy.
In September, the remaining five schools are set to go live, which includes King Edward VI Five Ways School, King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School for Boys, King Edward VI Lordswood School for Girls, King Edward VI King's Norton School for Boys and King Edward VI Northfield School for Girls.
At King Edward VI Camp Hill School For Girls, the platform has enabled vacancies to be filled more quickly and efficiently, while improving communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process. The school's team highlighted the platform's ability to support fair recruitment through features such as blind application printing, helping ensure shortlisting remains objective and inclusive.
One particularly impressive success story saw a vacancy advertised on a Friday afternoon, with interviews conducted and an appointment made by the following Thursday. The Camp Hill School for Girls' team noted that such a rapid and successful recruitment turnaround would not have been possible without MyNewTerm.
At King Edward VI Aston School, the team has reported that MyNewTerm has streamlined recruitment processes from end to end. Managing applications, shortlisting candidates, arranging interviews and requesting references can now be completed within one system, reducing duplication and saving valuable time for staff. The school has stated that the quality and volume of applications have increased noticeably, with successful recruitments to a wide range of roles, from support staff positions to senior leadership opportunities, attracting strong candidate fields and expanding talent pools.
At King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy, the platform has simplified the shortlisting process, with time being saved on forms/emails to candidates, which has significantly improved back and forth communication. The school has also experienced an increase in advert responses and can now see exactly where their adverts are receiving the highest engagement. The dashboard is also much more user friendly, including features such as colour coding which shows what stage each invited candidate is in the application process, including what documentation has been submitted and the status of their references.
By simplifying processes, improving candidate experience and delivering measurable time and cost savings, MyNewTerm has quickly become an invaluable recruitment tool. Its success is helping schools attract talented people more effectively and ensuring vacancies are filled swiftly so that colleagues can continue delivering the very best outcomes for our students.
