Due to Covid-19, additional measures have been put in place at all Test Venues.
The entrance test is being held over two sessions this year: morning and afternoon.
Children may only attend at the time indicated in the letter.
Although fewer children will be attending each session, parents and carers are reminded to maintain social distancing at all times during the queue for registration and also when waiting to collect their child following their Test.
At the end of the morning session there will be a large number of parents and pupils arriving for the afternoon session in addition to those leaving from the morning session, therefore extra vigilance and social distancing will be expected.
Please follow all instructions from staff and the signage at the test venue on the day.
If your child’s Year 6 bubble is isolating, please contact the Admissions Office before the Test using the Contact Form on the Grammar Schools in Birmingham website.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD TO THE TEST if they have been advised to isolate by their primary school. An additional Test date will be arranged in due course to accommodate the pupils affected by isolation measures or who are themselves unwell on the day.
If your child is unwell on the day of the Test please contact the Admissions Office immediately. If the telephone lines are engaged, please keep trying, leave a message including the Candidate number, or use the Contact Form but this MUST be completed and submitted on the morning of the Test.
Children can wear masks at the test if they wish but this is personal choice. Children will need to briefly remove their mask to check their identity at the test if requested.
Children have been asked to bring their own stationery (2HB pencils, an eraser and sharpener) but spares (sanitised) will be provided in the event of a problem.
Cleaning staff will be on site during the Test and a thorough clean using recommended sanitising products will take place before and between sessions.
