Sarah Hinksman, Collaboration Manager at the Foundation Office gives us an update on all the wonderful ways we have been working together recently:
All twelve schools are working together to put on our first online conference over eight afternoons from 21 June to 1 July. Everyone from across the Foundation (including the Foundation Office) is invited to the sessions which will cover different aspects of remote education. Other shared training and development opportunities coming up include Mental Health First Aid and opportunities for Design Technology and English teachers.
Before half term, Year 7 leads met virtually to discuss this year’s transition whilst Data & Exams Officers and art departments got together to share ideas and plans for future collaboration.
In the second half of term, meeting are already scheduled across our schools for the heads of Maths, PSHE Leads, Attendance Officers, colleagues who work in any way with our alumni, and for designated safeguarding and mental health leads.
New networks have been created on Basecamp covering: Alumni and Development, Cleaning Supervisors and Cleaners, and Year 7 Leads. There will be many more opportunities, so keep an eye out on your Basecamp groups and the HQ. If you’re not on Basecamp and would like to be, and you’re interested in meeting with others within your subject, school interest, or specialism, get in touch on [email protected]
As for our students, King Edward’s School having generously been sharing their high-profile speaker events for everyone to benefit from. Look out for the updates on Basecamp and support your students to attend where possible.
An inter-school book club, ‘King Edward’s Reading Group’ is being piloted, thanks to a suggestion from the student Diversity and Equality committee. That committee continues to meet regularly and is currently revising its membership, making plans for next year. Join the ED&I group for regular informal updates and discussion on the student, and governor and staff Equality Diversity and Inclusion committees.
