This term, we are holding training for staff and governors focused on the following topics:
If you would like to know more about training, or any of these workshops, please get in touch with Ali Bretherton, Head of Organisational Development at: [email protected]
Collaboration
We have been running an EDI Leads Group (meeting once per term at request of the schools). Focused on the delivery of our strategic objectives, the group has been considering what additional support schools may also require. We have discussed a framework for a mentoring programme for staff and asked for schools to register their interest in this.
We have recently set up an LGBTQIA+ and allies group focused on championing LGBTQIA+ matters across the Foundation. We are always looking for more members so if you want to be involved, please do get in touch directly with Tim Hasker, Head of Risk and Compliance at: [email protected]
We have plans to set up further groups with a focus on 'diverse recruitment practices' and 'women in leadership'. We are also currently working on a new EDI SharePoint site where schools can share resources and information. In the meantime, we have shared information with the schools regarding inclusive recruitment, transgender guidance, Ofsted’s equality objectives and expectations and information on training events.
We are also now working with the Local Government Association (LGA) to look at setting up an EDI network amongst other Multi Academy Trusts and schools. Ali Bretherton has been leading on a survey to help consider what might be possible and to look at how schools can work together more collaboratively.
We have been focused on developing allyship this year and are looking for more staff to become EDI advocates seeking to support and champion EDI in the workplace. If anyone is interested in learning more about allyship and how they can contribute please do get in touch with Ali Bretherton at: [email protected]
