EDI Training Update

As part of our ongoing commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), we are rolling out EDI training to all staff across our schools. This initiative is designed to enhance awareness and skills related to diversity and inclusion at every level of our organisation. The training includes two key courses: the Equality Act/Public Sector Equality Duty and Inclusive Recruitment.

The Equality Act/Public Sector Equality Duty course aims to improve knowledge of the Equality Act 2010, the Public Sector Equality Duty, and what Ofsted/ISI look for regarding EDI. The Inclusive Recruitment course supports staff involved in recruitment to develop inclusive practices and recruit and retain a diverse workforce. Each course takes approximately one hour to complete, and your progress will be saved as you go, allowing you to complete them at your own pace. The training is provided by EqualiTeach, a trusted partner we have worked with regularly.

We know several schools have already implemented the training, and many colleagues have already completed it, which is fantastic! For those who haven't yet had the chance, we encourage you to prioritise the EDI training as soon as possible. Your participation is crucial in helping us build a more inclusive and equitable environment for everyone.

All School EDI Leads have received instructions for accessing both training courses and will be sharing these with you soon, if they haven’t already. Time has been set aside on 6th January 2025, following the Foundation Conference, for the training. However, colleagues are invited to complete the training ahead of that date if they wish.

Thank you for supporting our EDI initiatives. By participating in this training, you're helping to create a more inclusive and equitable environment for everyone. We know this training is just one step in our ongoing efforts, and there's still much work to be done. Our commitment to this journey is unwavering, and we're enthusiastic about the changes ahead. Let's continue to work together, embrace diversity, and drive positive change within our community.
