Our third Foundation Conference took place at the start of January and had a phenomenal turn out, with 1,267 sign ups from our 14 schools and the Foundation which is an increase from last year.
We were spoiled with a phenomenal line up of sessions tailored to both teaching and support staff, which included even more support staff sessions than last year. Over all, there were a total of 82 sessions on offer, an increase on the 64 sessions offered in 2025.
These included:
- 56 sessions for teaching staff
- 10 sessions for general pedagogy, AI and SLT
- 5 pastoral sessions
- 9 sessions for support staff which were all online
- 2 extra sessions in the afternoon - one focusing on the Teacher Pension Scheme and the other covering the mandatory Sexual Harassment training
These sessions were primarily held in-person to encourage collaboration and community throughout the Foundation. With a brilliant selection of 9 host schools and the IKON gallery, each venue meticulously organised the logistics of the sessions and helped make the day run smoothly. The host schools included King Edward VI Aston School, King Edward VI King's Norton School for Boys, King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy, King Edward VI Lordswood School For Girls, King Edward VI Five Ways School, King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys, King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls, King Edward’s School and King Edward VI High School for Girls.
A massive thank you goes out to all of our Foundation Leaders in Education (FLE), Continuing Professional Development (CPD) leads and everyone else who was involved in the support, planning and organising our third Foundation-wide conference. Despite some challenges due to the weather, the conference was an overwhelming success. It was amazing to see how everyone came together to create a really brilliant day full of collaboration and learning.
Once again, thank you to all who contributed to making the Foundation Conference January 2026 a reality. We look forward to continuing this tradition of learning and growth in the years to come!
