In September, King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls proudly welcomed over 200 visitors to its first Open Day, held as part of Birmingham Heritage Week.
Among the guests was Irene De Boo, Lead of Birmingham Heritage Week, who joined attendees in discovering the rich history and stunning architecture of the school hall. The school was also delighted to welcome a former student who brought along a beautiful print of a painting she created of the hall during her time at the school.
A big thank you to our Foundation Archivist, Charlotte Gallant, for bringing the school’s history to life and to the Senior Prefects and Year 11 student for their hard work and help with making the event run so smoothly.
It was a wonderful celebration of heritage, community, and the legacy of education in Birmingham.
