King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy are delighted to announce that they have achieved the prestigious Wellbeing Award for Schools, following a rigorous inspection of mental health and emotional wellbeing provision for both pupils and staff.
One of just a few schools in the local area to be awarded this certification, King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls' Academy has been working towards this accreditation for the past twelve months. The initiative was led by Welfare and Wellbeing Assistant Headteacher, Stacy Dennis, and the change team.
This award, run in partnership with the National Children’s Bureau, focuses on the long-term culture of the whole school, using an evidence-based framework to ensure that mental health and wellbeing continue to sit at the heart of school life.
Well done to colleagues who were part of this initiative and strive to instil a mental health focus amongst both pupils and staff!
