Primary Partnerships with the King Edward VI Foundation in 2024/25

Over the past year, the King Edward VI Foundation’s Primary Partnership Programme has gone from strength to strength, delivering over 40 sessions to pupils from our five partner primary schools, supported by 12 Foundation schools and strategic partners across Birmingham.

From subject-specific masterclasses to sporting and academic competitions, the programme has provided pupils with a wide range of enriching experiences. Highlights included high-energy cricket tournaments, debate competitions, and maths challenges, all designed to stretch students’ thinking, build confidence, and foster a love of learning beyond the classroom.

Each activity was carefully designed to support Year 5 pupils in their journey towards secondary school. Feedback from end-of-year surveys was overwhelmingly positive, with students reporting that they felt more confident, more inspired by their subjects, and more prepared and excited for the move to secondary education.

The programme is a testament to the power of collaboration between our schools and the wider community. By working together, we’ve been able to create meaningful opportunities that broaden horizons and nurture potential.

We look forward to building on this success in the year ahead, and to welcoming even more young learners into our Foundation family.
