Reflection on Foundation Awards

One of the standout moments of the year came last week as colleagues from across the King Edward VI Foundation gathered for our second annual Foundation Awards Evening. Held in the elegant surroundings of Edgbaston Stadium’s Banqueting Suite, the event was a heartfelt celebration of the people who make our schools exceptional, the staff whose dedication, innovation and compassion shape young lives every day.

The ceremony brought together employees from all corners of the Foundation, from teachers and support staff to central team members, in a spirit of unity and celebration. Guests were welcomed with a drinks reception before enjoying a three-course dinner and an inspiring awards programme. With photos capturing the joy of the evening and stories shared across tables, it was an opportunity not only to recognise achievement, but to reconnect with the values we hold dear.

Winners were announced across a wide range of categories, from Integrity and Collaboration to Innovation and Impact, with Long Service Medals also presented in gratitude to colleagues marking key milestones in their careers. The stories behind each nomination were a testament to the passion, care and collaboration that underpin our work across the Foundation.

One staff member reflected, "What a pleasure it is to work for an organisation that values each and every one of its employees."

The Foundation Awards are more than an evening of celebration, they are a chance to pause, reflect and honour the colleagues who go above and beyond every day. They remind us that we are stronger together, and that in celebrating one another, we reinforce the values that drive our shared mission.

Thank you to everyone who made the night such a success, from the nominees and winners, to the teams behind the scenes, and the staff at Edgbaston Stadium for helping create such a beautiful evening.
