Academy Trust welcomes Balaam Wood School

The King Edward VI Academy Trust Birmingham is delighted to welcome Balaam Wood School. As from 1st September, Balaam Wood officially join the eight King Edward VI Academies, becoming King Edward VI Balaam Wood Academy. Damian McGarvey, Headteacher at Balaam Wood SchoolHeath Monk, Executive Director for the Academy Trust said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming another comprehensive school into our family and joining us on our mission to make Birmingham the best place to be educated in the UK. The staff and pupils at Balaam Wood are so enthusiastic and we very much look forward to building on our relationship. Damian McGarvey, Headteacher at Balaam Wood comments: “I am very excited to start our journey with King Edward VI Academy Trust. Our school wants all of our pupils to develop a ‘can do’ attitude, be confident, adaptable, resilient and independent. Each pupil should be able to reach their learning potential in a healthy, safe environment through an enjoyable, stimulating and challenging curriculum.” Grace Cousens, Head of Special Projects at the Foundation Office has been working hard over the past year to ensure a smooth transition. “I am so pleased that Balaam Wood is now part of the King Edward VI Academy Trust; it’s been a fantastic project and I am excited about continuing to work with the staff and students as we move forward”
