The King Edward VI Academy Trust is delighted to be welcoming Turves Green Girls' School into the fold in the coming months. We are currently working closely with TGGS on their academy conversion, which received approval from the West Midlands Headteacher Board in October. From September 2021, Turves Green Girls' School will officially join the nine existing King Edward VI Academies, becoming King Edward VI Northfield School for Girls. In the meantime, we are working hard to complete all the legal academy conversion requirements and to involve the school in collaborative initiatives taking place across the Trust.
Grace Cousens, Associate Director of Educational Support and Growth at the Foundation Office comments "We are thrilled to be welcoming another comprehensive school into our 'family' to join us on our mission to make Birmingham the best place to be educated in the UK. Turves Green Girls’ is an excellent school providing fantastic support and achieving strong results (Grace - this was certainly demonstrated when you were a pupil of TGGS in the late 90s! - Ed). In joining the King Edward VI Academy Trust, the school will build on its strengths, continuing to meet the needs of the local community and support all children regardless of ability."

Our pupils are keen, resilient learners, ambitious for themselves and the future of their area. They bring energy and creativity to all they do, and we are rightly proud of them. Working with other schools in the Trust, we hope that we can further develop the educational offer for children in the Northfield area."
We look forward to working closely with staff at Turves Green Girls’ School and welcoming them into the King Edward VI Foundation Birmingham.
