New Headteacher appointment at King Edward VI Aston School

[caption id="attachment_11093" align="alignright" width="300"] Matthew Brady will become the new Headmaster at King Edward VI Aston School from September 2021[/caption] The King Edward VI Academy Trust are pleased to announce that Matthew Brady has been appointed as headmaster. He brings to Aston a wealth of experience. Matthew is currently Associate Vice Principal of WMG Academy in Coventry, being responsible for that school within the WMG Academy Trust structure. Matthew trained as a modern languages teacher and taught at Arden School in Solihull and Tile Hill Wood School in Coventry. Matthew has been involved in many successful initiatives and his influence has even extended to presenting before the House of Commons Select Committee for Education. Both innovative yet considered, Matthew intends to build on the excellent legacy left by the late Colin Parker and will undoubtedly provide inspiring leadership at Aston. In the meantime, King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls Headteacher, Amy Whittall will act as Interim Headteacher for Aston School. She comments "Following the tragic death of Mr Colin Parker in October, I have taken on the role of Interim Headteacher until the new permanent Headteacher, Mr Brady, takes up his post on 1st September 2021. During that time, myself, the senior leadership team and all staff, Governors and students are committed to upholding the vision for the school which is set out below by Mr Parker, and ensuring that his ethos, culture and values for Aston are placed at the core of all we do."
