The King Edward VI Foundation is pleased to announce an exciting secondment opportunity for school leaders across our schools: Foundation Leader of AI.
Launching in September 2025, this strategic role will see colleagues seconded for 10 days per year to help drive forward our ambitious vision for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. The role will run until 31 August 2026, and be supported by a TLR3.7 or equivalent ADP allowance.
As part of our wider Digital Transformation Programme, the Foundation aims to harness AI – and in particular, Copilot for Microsoft 365 – to reduce administrative burden, enhance teaching and learning, and improve staff wellbeing and pupil outcomes.
To support this work, we are forming a cross-Foundation AI Action Group. This group will include staff from across all Foundation clusters and central teams, working together to:
· Identify and redesign common school processes using Copilot
· Champion safe and effective use of AI across schools
· Support training, collaboration and internal professional learning communities
· Contribute to policy and governance frameworks for AI use
We are seeking two Foundation Leaders of AI from each cluster (Central, North, South, and Independent). Applicants should be senior school leaders with a passion for innovation and a track record of delivering impactful change in schools.
Successful applicants will work collaboratively to embed practical, scalable uses of Copilot in school life. Full training and software access will be provided.
Applications are open now and close at 10am on Monday 2 June 2025. Interviews will be held in person on 5 and 6 June at the Foundation office.
To apply, please submit a letter of no more than two sides of A4 to [email protected], outlining your interest and relevant experience. Please ensure you have the support of your Headteacher before applying.
