Update
Following the selection of Microsoft as the Foundation's and Academy Trust's single central enterprise platform (SCEP), progress has been made in three main areas: communicating the decision to staff in schools, work commencing on the proof of concept (POC) implementation and training of staff in schools involved in the proof of concept (POC).
In June, the Foundation Digital Unification Steering Group appointed RM Education as SCEP implementation partner and Tablet Academy as the training partner for the SCEP POC. RM completed technical consultation with each POC 'entity' (i.e. High School for Girls, Balaam Wood, Five Ways and the Foundation Office) in July and initiated the build of the new central Microsoft platform in August. Once the final user acceptance tests on the Microsoft platform have been signed off, user, data, domain and device will be migrated.
Before the summer break, Foundation leaders including the CEO, Director of Operations, Director of Education and Associate Director of Digital Transformation were invited to meet with staff at Camp Hill Boys, Camp Hill Girls, Five Ways School and Balaam Wood Academy to present the rationale, benefits, timescales and process for implementing the SCEP and answered their questions.
Tablet Academy were tasked with training staff in two stages: first, all school staff will be trained on Microsoft essentials, and second, bespoke training sessions will take place for specific school departments/subject areas. All staff training sessions for the three POC schools were completed in the first two weeks of September. The bespoke training sessions for school departments have commenced and will be completed by October half term.
Foundation Office Downtime
Please note that from Thursday 13th October to Monday 17th October the Foundation Office Microsoft platform will be migrating to the new central platform as part of the SCEP proof of concept implementation. During this time all Foundation Office staff and Governors will be unable to access their Foundation emails and other Microsoft applications. Access to third-party applications will not be impacted during the migration. Details on how to contact key staff at the Foundation Office during the scheduled downtime will be shared with schools closer to the migration.
