At the beginning of May, members of King Edward VI Foundation, students, staff and the project team came together for a sod cutting event at King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy.
The event marks the start of works at the school, where local contractor Speller Metcalfe are on site working on the refurbishment of the reception area and extension to the dining room.
D Stanley Associates, Holloway Foo Architects, PMP Consultants, Paul Ravenhall Consulting Ltd, Barnsley Marshall Limited, Walker Cotter Safety Limited and Speller Metcalfe have worked closely with the school and Foundation to ensure that this scheme meets the needs of its students and staff for years to come.
These new and updated facilities provide students with a modern, vibrant eating area, along with a conference space for Academy events.
The scheme is due to finish at the end of the year and whilst on site, the project team aim to offer learning opportunities to students of the school.
