Sheldon Heath Students Take Action for Their Community

On Friday 2 May, a group of Year 9 students from King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy took to the streets for a community litter pick in the local Sheldon area, as part of their participation in the ‘Envision’ programme.

Envision empowers young people to create and deliver their own youth-led social action projects that make a tangible difference to their communities. Each team is supported by a group of professional mentors who help guide and develop their ideas, while building their leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

For their project, the students chose to address environmental concerns by organising a community clean-up, demonstrating a strong sense of civic responsibility and commitment to local improvement. The event was entirely voluntary and enthusiastically supported by the group, who wanted to make a positive impact beyond their school grounds.

This initiative not only helped to tidy the local area, but also highlighted the students’ drive to contribute meaningfully to the world around them—an excellent example of Care, one of the Foundation’s core values in action.

We’re proud to share the work of these students and look forward to seeing how their project continues to grow.
