Record-Breaking GCSE Success Across the King Edward VI Foundation

We are proud to celebrate another year of outstanding, record-breaking GCSE results from across our 14 schools. The hard work and dedication of our pupils and staff has truly paid off — here are some of the highlights:

  • King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls celebrated outstanding results, with 20.5% of A Level grades at A* and 62% at A/A*. Sixteen students secured places at Oxbridge, almost 170 gained their first-choice university offers, and one student, Maimouna Diop, will begin a prestigious degree apprenticeship at The Dyson Institute. 

  • King Edward VI High School for Girls achieved a phenomenal landmark, with 69% of results at grade 9, which reinforces its position as the top academic school in the West Midlands. An incredible 90% of grades were 9/8, and 96% were 9–7. Read more here.

  • King Edward’s School showcased outstanding results, with 41% at grade 9, 67% at 9–8, and 83% at 9–7.

  • King Edward VI Lordswood School for Girls achieved over 100 top grade 9s across a wide range of subjects. In English alone, 44% of students achieved grades 7–9.

  • King Edward VI Five Ways School showcased a 100% pass rate, which included English and Mathematics. Standout figures included 52% of all grades at 9 or 8, 75% at 9–7 and 20 students securing all 9 and 8 grades. 100% grade 9/8 results were also achieved for 2 subjects, with an exceptional average Attainment 8 score of 76.   • King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School for Boys celebrated its strongest GCSE performance since grading changes in 2018. An impressive 65% of all grades were 7 or above, with 44% at grade 8 or higher. In both Mathematics and English, 58% of pupils receiving grade 7+, and 96% achieved at least grade 5s in at least 5 subjects, including Maths and English. The average Attainment 8 score was 71.8 which equates to each student attaining at least 8 Grade 7s. Read more here.
