Staff from the King Edward VI Foundation recently joined colleagues from Summit Learning Trust and Robin Hood Multi Academy Trust for a Ground Force Day hosted by The Education Exchange West Midlands at Two Gates Community Primary School.
Building on the success of previous volunteer projects, the event brought education professionals together to improve the school environment through practical, hands-on support.
Foundation colleagues Julie Waddington, Clare Stanton and Joe Millington spent the day helping with a range of activities, including gardening, site maintenance and painting. Working alongside volunteers from across the region, they contributed to a series of improvements designed to create a brighter and more welcoming space for pupils and staff.
The DIY SOS-style initiative highlights the power of professional generosity and collaboration, giving colleagues the opportunity to support a local school while sharing skills and building connections across the education sector.
This was the second consecutive year that the Foundation has taken part in a Ground Force Day with The Education Exchange West Midlands, following last year’s successful volunteer project. The collective effort once again resulted in noticeable improvements across the site and demonstrated what can be achieved when organisations work together for the benefit of their communities.
The King Edward VI Foundation is proud of Julie, Clare and Joe for representing the Foundation and helping to make a lasting difference for the pupils, staff and families of Two Gates Community Primary School. We look forward to continuing to support future Ground Force projects and strengthening our contribution to schools and communities across the region.
