[caption id="attachment_10981" align="alignright" width="344"] Charlotte Jordan will become the new Head at King Edward VI Five Ways School in September 2021[/caption] The King Edward VI Academy Trust are delighted to announce the appointment of Charlotte Jordan as the school’s next Head. Charlotte will take on the headship on 1st September 2021, with the retirement of Yvonne Wilkinson. After her early education in Birmingham, Charlotte completed an English degree at Queen Mary, London, before training as a teacher and, subsequently, completing an MA in Education.  She joined King Edward VI Five Ways as a Deputy Head in 2019 after nine years as an Assistant Head in Stockland Green School and earlier appointments in Birmingham and London. Charlotte comments: "It is an absolute honour and privilege to become the next Headteacher of King Edwards VI Five Ways. Having been appointed Deputy Head in September 2019, it was immediately clear to me just how strong the community spirit is at Five Ways.  This is no more evident than in the way all members of our community, from students, teachers, associate staff, parents and governors have all pulled together through the testing times we have all faced during the last twelve months. It is this strong sense of community that I want to continue and build on during my tenure as Headteacher of this inspiring school. "Born and educated in Birmingham, I know the value that the Schools of King Edward VI have to this city, and the high esteem in which they are held.  I will work relentlessly to build on our school’s great tradition whilst forging new pathways.  To do this I am keen to maintain the outward facing links with our school community: parents, the local community and any potential strategic alliances to further student outcomes for the King Edward VI Academy Trust.  Having worked in a variety of schools, both in London and Birmingham, my approach has always been to find new and innovative ways to develop talented young minds, encouraging all to achieve their potential, regardless of background or personal circumstance. "What is abundantly clear about King Edward VI Five Ways is that it is a school with a soul. I am delighted to share something of my own soul and lead a school where my personal and professional principles of ambition for students, compassion for others and a strong moral purpose for all to succeed, irrespective of background, are valued." Unanimous in its decision, the selection panel saw Charlotte as having the vision, drive and commitment to provide the leadership that will allow King Edward VI Five Ways to continue to grow and thrive after the departure of Yvonne Wilkinson.
