Huge Success For Poetry Pro Iona

Iona Mandal, from King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls, performed in the Northfield Festival of Music and Speech on 12th May and won the Ellen Robinson Cup in Verse Speaking.

She recited Brian Patten's poem “Geography Lesson” as her winning piece. The festival was held in Bishop Challoner School and all categories were judged by Ms. Audrey Behan.

Iona was also a winner in 6 other categories spanning from reading at sight, prose reading, poetry reading, own composition (of a poem), from selected pieces and also from her own choice. She won certificates and trophies for each and was marked Outstanding in two categories and marked at Distinction in Six. It was a proud moment for her and for King Edward VI Camp Hill School For Girls.
