Julie is an experienced school leader and school improvement professional with over 20 years experience in the sector.
Julie joined the Foundation in April 2022, prior to this she worked in a variety of leadership and development roles including Director of School Improvement, National Strategies Adviser, School Leader and Advanced Skills Teacher, working with a wide range of schools predominantly located in the West Midlands.
Julie holds a master’s degree in educational leadership and is a Chartered College Fellow and member of BERA.
Julie is a DFE RISE Adviser for the West Midlands, working closely with the department and sits within the Inclusive Mainstream project team. She a passionate advocate for equality, diversity and Inclusion and is a published contributing writer for ED&I and advised on an ED&I programme for The Chartered College of Teaching.
Julie has experience of being a school governor, sits on an Interim Executive Board as special adviser and is a Trustee for a local MAT.
Julie’s priority is to build an exceptional education system for the children of Birmingham so that all children can achieve and thrive. Together with her team, Julie is focusing on priorities around pupil and student inclusion, attainment and experience, and high quality professional learning to support staff.
