Manny Johal joined the King Edward VI Foundation as Director of Digital, with responsibility for leading the Foundation’s digital, data and technology strategy across all schools.
Manny has over twenty years’ experience in senior digital and technology leadership roles across education and complex organisations in the UK and internationally. Prior to joining the Foundation, Manny held Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) roles, working for global education groups, Multi-Academy Trusts and independent schools. His career includes extensive experience across the United Arab Emirates and the wider Middle East, where he led large-scale, multi-site digital transformation programmes within highly regulated education environments.
Key priorities for Manny and the digital team include delivering digital unification across the Foundation, strengthening cyber security and data governance, embedding enterprise systems, and supporting the safe and effective adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. Manny works closely with school leaders, governors, executive colleagues and external partners to ensure that technology investment is aligned to the Foundation’s strategic priorities and delivers consistent, high-quality outcomes for pupils and staff.
Manny has a strong focus on governance, risk management and change adoption, and is committed to building sustainable digital capability across the organisation through collaborative leadership and clear, practical delivery.
