Grace Cousens is Director of Strategic Management at the King Edward VI Foundation, with responsibility for governance, compliance, risk assurance, and cross‑organisation strategic planning.

Grace works closely with colleagues to strengthen organisational assurance, support effective decision‑making, and ensure that risk is identified, managed, and reported proportionately. Her role includes oversight of regulatory compliance, policy and governance frameworks, and complex cross‑trust initiatives, as well as leading strategic projects that support long‑term sustainability and improvement.

Grace joined the Foundation in 2017 after seven years at a national educational charity, where she delivered leadership development and professional learning programmes for school leaders. With over fifteen years’ experience working closely with schools, Grace is passionate about the role of strong governance, strategic planning, and effective systems in enabling high‑quality education. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Birmingham and is CIPD qualified.
